We are Abdel and Marieke. We met – while dancing, of course – in Cali, Colombia. Our shared passion for dance, culture, music, art, and organizing led to the idea of bringing Salsa Caleña to the Netherlands. A style that, in our opinion, was still missing from the Dutch salsa scene.
Driven by that passion, we work together to put Salsa Caleña on the map in the Netherlands. Marieke takes care of the organization and everything involved behind the scenes, while Abdel focuses on the creative and execution aspects.
Together, we want to share not only the dance, but also the culture, energy, and alegría that are so characteristic of Cali.
